Welcome to the club, RF. When I finally learned to write, I wrote backwards! You can imagine my parent's concern.

No thanks to the British public school system I struggled through. With determination, later on in Canada, I became a writer.

The problem with spell check alone (though it's a blessing sometimes!) is it doesn't catch words that are used in the wrong context -- peddle/pedal for instance.

Ha, ha. Clever. The irony being that the OP is unlikely to get it.

Certainly, if we were to pounce on every typo on the internet we'd have a job on our hands that would stretch into eternity, but I don't think it's necessarily pedantic (or rude, if it's done politely -- as in this case) to point out common mispellings ... especially if they are words germane to the topic. Surely we should know how to spell the parts of a bicycle on a bicycling forum. Hopefully, the OP has now learned something new without any great embarrassment. Hey, we can all learn something every day, if we pay attention and not take offence when someone offers knowledge.

While I have my pedant's mortar board on, let's encourage capitals, paragraphs and punctuation as well. The conventions of composition were developed to make it easy to read.

Speedplay pedals are expensive but worth it.
