Yep, the more I look, I count about 4 that will probably need replacing. Can't believe how poor this is but equally, being a member of the local club I'll give warnings that way and stay away of course. They'll only offer a shitty refund and they ain't worth it.

At least I had the good sense to order some spokes the other day, should be here soon enough.

Many thaks for your contributions, depressing but informative. Put another wheel on for now.

Modern factory wheels need to be trued carefully. The nipple spoke fusing isn't new but the LBS should know that for the higher end Ksyriums use alloy nipples ! I would have a word with them.

I know a local CC member who had issues with a LBS, and his were that despite being a bike shop, they had no idea how to sort a decent bike. You have to be careful.

I've had Mavic bladed spokes that have twisted over whole length of the spoke, but that just looks plain wrong.

I don't suppose going into LBS's and asking (beforehand) if they know how to do their job would go down too well . Which is what I'm about to do when I take my car to the garage to have the suspension arms replaced.

Gutted to have been so muggy as to trust what are obviously a bunch of untrustables, but as Fossy says, it can happen.

Anybody recommend a wheel builder if there are 4 spokes to do, or just a good LBS?

C'mon Bristolians, don't be shy, where'd you go?

Ive heard that twisted spokes can untwist often on ride as a result the wheel keeps on going out of true

Yes it can. At least bladed you can spot it.

TBH Mavic wheels need minimum work...been using them too long, so if the spoke gets twisted its the LBS fault.
