When it was first brought back with Christopher Ecclestone as the Doc, it worked for me. But David Tennant is too inanely grinning for my taste as the Doc - I tried to like it with him in the role, but no, alas (and I realise this is heresy to many a current Doctor Who fan) I find his portrayal one of the worst ones...

I've enjoyed a lot of the Tennant stories, though the Russell Davies ones tend not to be the best. Ones that immediately spring to mind:

Blink
Girl in the fireplace
impossible planet (two parter)
Silence the library (two parter)
Human nature/family of blood
Utopia /Sound of drums/ last of the timelords (unusually RTD did a good end to series 3 imho)

Isn't Doctor Who meant for the little people? Doesn't do a lot for me but my kids love it.

Family Guy. If it comes on, I watch the first gag or so to see if it is indeed worth all the fuss.

I'm scrabbling for the remote control within 10 seconds in case I hear any more.

I know.. it's just soooo bad to take a simple pleasure in something that's well, family viewing. As an adult one should only be interested in grown-up things, boring, serious stuff! No time for 'fun', no way!

Or grown ups who are retarded! Honestly, it depresses me that people like Russell T Davies can have praise heaped upon them for producing this utter crap! I'm sorry but Dr Who is for the mindless. Giving Davies awards for writing it is about as absurd giving McDonalds awards for the quality if their burgers.

Glen Michael's Cartoon Cavalcade. Shudder.
Anything with Rolf Harris.
Oh and Bagpuss. More shuddering.

Bagpuss is sublime. I bought a video of it not too many years ago. Seriously the best thing you can watch when stoned.

Bagpuss is lovely, but I prefer The Herbs and The Clangers.
Also a soft spot for The Woodentops, but I really don't like Andy Pandy very much. Digressing - what have they done to Thomas The Tank Engine? All those CGI faces! And that awful singing at the beginning. Ruined a classic for me..

I suppose you only ever watch serious documentaries about Bolivian cheesemaking.

I think the concept you're missing is... fun.
