I dislike Dr Who and Eastenders but it's not without reason. It's because they're s****!

Let's face it, very little on the TV is any good. The McDonald's generation are calling the shots.

It's fast getting that way, innit?

Here's some of what I do like (but doubtless there'll be people who don't like some of what I've got on this list!)
Eggheads
Mastermind
University Challenge
Some fillums
CSI: Vegas
CSI: New York
The Wire/NYPD Blue (when they were on, they tie for title of "best TV programmes ever broadcast)
Football matches involving my team playing in that place I will not go (that London)
Armstrong and Miller

I'm struggling now actually!

All that asperational bollox where some well-to-do couple buys a house/holiday/whatever you could never afford yourself in a million years. Also

Last of the Summer Wine
Keeping up Appearances
Heartbeat

"The making of..." programmes. Why licence fee been used to make hour long adverts for hollywood movies?

I really want to like Doctor Who but I just don't. I can't really articulate the reasons, there is just something annoyingly kooky and low-budget about it. It should be charming and Russell T Davis is a talented man - but it just doesn't work for me and I'm not sure why. I'll make an exception for one episode called Blink, but it was largely detached from the Doctor so it almost doesn't count.

Greedo

Guest
Heartbeat (never watched it. Just the theme tune makes me dive for the control)
All soaps (Thankfully Mrs G hates them all too)
Who wants to be a millionaire
Anything to do with horse racing/cricket
Last of the Summer Wine
Holby
Casualty
Cash in the attic
Miller and Armstrong
The Mighty Boosh
Songs of Praise
Reality shows (apart from The Apprentice)
Any daytime TV show
Makeover programmes

When it was first brought back with Christopher Ecclestone as the Doc, it worked for me. But David Tennant is too inanely grinning for my taste as the Doc - I tried to like it with him in the role, but no, alas (and I realise this is heresy to many a current Doctor Who fan) I find his portrayal one of the worst ones...

Are we allowed radio programmes? If so, I nominate The Archers as one programme I dive forwards to turn off the second I hear that theme tune. I have a thing about being in the car in a town or a traffic jam and that theme being played and other people thinking I listen to it.

I'd also like to add Chris (garg)Moyles as well.

Oh, waffles, it's not often you're utterly wrong, but...

Well, the things I really wouldn't watch:

Football, or anything connected with it.
Most sport actually - I like the variety of the Olympics and I might watch a bit of 3 day eventing if there was nothing else on.
Any of the elimination type talent shows - celeb or otherwise. Anything where you have to wait for what seems like 10 minutes between the words "and the winner is....." and the name.
Anything that sets out to be confrontational or shouty or feed on misery, like Wife Swap. Although I did like It's Me or the Dog, for the animal psychology, and sometimes watch Supernanny for the same reason.

Otherwise, I'll actually sit through a lot of stuff, although often without actually watching it, it's more for company while I knit or read.
