@Randyberlin
@Whorty
@Add
@Merida reacto 4000 (Martyn)

@BILL S is a possible too I think.

Any other cyclechatters interested? @Marino.g , @Perky77 ??

I would love to but it would be a step too far to get official sign off, especially after just having a week off and doing the Copenhagen to Berlin ride. ToC sounds ideal as it’s just up the road from me, but only just noticed it and I have plans with family this weekend, maybe be for next year but prices seem high. It will be good to get feedback from you all over the weekend. Have a good one :thumbsup:

@CXRAndy I saw your post on Randy's ride, I think it'll be good to set up a WhatsApp group for his time over here, there are enough of us spaced around the country to support and assist him if anything happens etc.

Are you ok to set it up if we get our numbers to you?

@Randyberlin would you be ok with this? It would also give you a few emergency contact details :smile:

Thanks Kip. On the what’s App now. I can tell you having to ride that as a single speed was a lot of spinning and going nowhere. I used the 34 front ring and a middle sprocket maybe 25? Anyway, way to low unless going uphill. The guy who fixed it didn’t charge enough - new chain new cables and new hanger. I’m ready to ride tomorrow.

@Norry1 Hey bud. Are you still planning on doing the Cambridge ride? Not seen you around lately.

Yes still planning to ride ToC.

Not been around much as rather busy at work. Also struggling a bit riding-wise. My legs feel permanently fatigued for some reason and I can't get my heart rate up to where it normally goes. This is something I get during multiple day hard efforts - by day 3 or 4 - but no idea why I have it at the moment as I'm not training hard - or even very much.

Glad it’s all sorted Randy. I hope th UK has treated you well so far.

There aren’t generally many bears to chase you down the road in these parts, but we do have some grumpy car drivers! Hopefully you find some nice quiet roads to cruise down. My only advice would be to try and be a little assertive with the big metal monsters! Make it so they have to drive around you rather than just straight through you. Do this by not cycling right in the gutter but a little further over in the road.

I’m sure you’ll be just fine though!

Look forward to meeting you in Peterborough :smile:

Norry I had the same last week funnily enough. Legs were completely dead. I think it’s because I was going up so many flights of stairs all week. Have you got a foam roller? If not maybe try getting a tennis ball, put it on the floor and sit on it basically. Rolling it under your legs while bearing down with all your body weight. That works really well for me sometimes.

If you pm Bridgy your mobile number he’ll add you to our WhatsApp group for Cambridge.

Fatigue overall. Rest or very easy week, 1 in 4 week rotation.

@Randyberlin - I think from your previous posts that your're planning on heading down to Wales for the DD from the north (Scotland). I live just to the east of Chester so could well be near to your route. Let me know if you need any help plotting a good route or if you fancy some company for a leg of your ride.

Good luck everyone for the ToC this weekend. Wish I was there - hopefully I'll be able to make a real world ride with you at some point.

I'd love to Whorty. I've just been looking at the practicalities of doing just that as I'm now free on the 24th. But I would have to travel down and back on the day and Google maps is saying 3h40 each way - which would make it a very long day (with the little matter of cycling the DD inbetween! :laugh:).

I would have to smooth it over with hid too. I'm surprised I was able to get away with last week in Majorca without getting divorced!

I'll see if there's a way I can make it work but it's looking doubtful at the moment :cry:

Many of us are staying over in the Travel lodge in Hands Cross the night before. I'll be heading home straight after the ride which, like you will be abut 3.5 hours. Don't mind doing this after the ride but not sure I'd want to do it before the ride too! I think it's an early start to the ride too (8 or 9 o'clock?). Be great if you could join us though :okay:
