What is it about tubeless tyres that makes them better for pucture resistance than tubed?

Is it that once an itme has pierced the inner tube, becuase it can expand, the tube will allow air to get past the item thus the tyre goes down.?

With a tube less tyre, the tyre being less elastic, the item will be wedged in more or less sealing the hole.

Or ???

Do you get better puncture resistance from tubeless? Probably not!

You will get better puncture resistance against pinch flats if you run your tyres at lower pressures, because there is no tube to pinch. I thought that this was the so called 'advantage' of tubeless.

I'll stick with normal tubes if you don't mind!
