Getting fed up with punctures so thought it could be time to go tubeless. Wheels are "tubeless ready" and tyres are good for it too. Got the sealant and ordered two tubeless valves, just wondering about the tape. As you can see in the picture, tape has shifted in some places from covering the spokes. I take it this is essential to stop sealant leaking out? Thanks in advance to anyone indulging my ignorance.

Complete retape with 'tubeless tape'. It's the air you need to keep in, never mind the sealant. What wheels(rims)? What tyres?
Btw, with tape like that, not surprised you suffer punctures.

That is just standard rim tape.

If you want Stans tape without the price then search for TESA 4289. Same stuff 4x as much for half the price

@Milkfloat beat me to it.

Take off the old rim wrap (it's likely not tape that you have on as standard) then clean the inner rim very well to make sure there's no dirt or residue. Then 2-3 wraps of 4289 (it's worth watching an online video) but make sure you wrap it tightly and WITHOUT any air bubbles, your thumb will likely hurt after a while.....

Trying to get a container with 25 holes drilled in it to hold air is not easy.

As said, even tubeless rim tape is insufficient.

My local bike shop uses two wraps of Gorilla tape.

Even with that, I've had sealant appear around a couple of the spoke nipples.
