When you pedal backwards it catches on the furthest jockey wheel from the cassette after a couple rotations is that normal

Re-riveting links in a 10 speed chain is not advised. Break once, rejoin only with a quick link (or special rivet) seems to be the advice, I'm not sure why.
If you can't free it up, you may need to remove and replace with another quick link.
Use the chain tool, it's what the middle saddle is there for. Just give it a slight tweak and it will free it.Typical!
