Wow - yes that's a really annoying one too. .

People sniggering at their phones - who upon being interrogated as to the source of the mirth say.

"Oh nothing.."

Or worse still..

They should not be storing your PIN. anywhere. What they should do is to apply a one-way mathematical transform to it and store that. When you type in a PIN at your local ATM they would apply the same transform to that and see if it gives the same result.

The bank would probably have ordered you a new card and you would have had to wait for that to arrive, and a new PIN would come in one or two separate letters.

Actually, thinking about it ... it would be very easy to crack a 4-digit PIN if you knew the transformed number because there are only 10,000 possibilities to try. Still, that would be more secure than storing "Accy's PIN = wxyz"!

I've heard some people claim, that they intend to reclaim those vile offerings upon their return journey.

Personally I don't believe a word of it.

Seems to be just about everyone has a dog nowadays - not massively keen myself.

Too much poo everywhere, too many unruly hounds bothering walkers /cyclists, and worrying stock.

Grumble, grumble, grumble..

Balance .... be concerned about the thing that is likely to actually kill you rather than the thing that probably won't.
