Trivial things that make you annoyed beyond expectations?

I get annoyed by eBay and Amazon blitzing me with "We noticed you were looking at... You might be interested in..." offers.

Honestly, eBay, why would someone who spent an evening looking at (and then buying) 10-speed 105 shifters be interested in buying some 11-speed Ultegra shifters at triple the price a week later?!!!

Yup
about 2 months ago I went mad and bought 6 months supply of hay fever tablets from Groupon

now they advise me to stock up pretty much every week

funny thing is that , although I had been taking them every day for about 2 years - I stopped needing them just as the 6 month supply arrived
so I only started using them a few days ago!!

So - annoying thing

People who get to the till and then decided that this is the time to have a little think about what they need and how they might pay for it

for example - the other day IO went to Greggs to get sausage rolls for SWMBO
now - those on "other threads" will remember that I was recently told to go on a gluten free diet so basically I am not allowed ANYTHING from Greggs
nothing
not a thing
bugger all

so I arrived and stood there in front of the doughnuts and pasties and sausage roll - 2nd in the queue and the lady in front of me was being served

except that she wanted a doughnut
or was it 4
and she had better have a look at the pre-packaged ones (thats she must have JUST walked past)
and then came back to the other ones
then had to pick 4 ones
then remembered that she also wanted some sausage rolls - 3
thank you - oh hang on - I think it was 5
and can I have a coffee
Oh and a hot chocolate

Oh - I had better nip out to the car and ask xxx what he wants

sorted that out

right that's all

cash or card???

Oh yes - erm cash
"fiddles in purse"
Oh - I think I am a bit short - I'll go and get my card

went BACK out to the car to get her card

comes back

I have found some more cash so I'll pay cash

still not enough

back to the car

comes back with a card that I was now confidentially expecting to be rejected
but it worked

so she finally left
but forgot her coffee and had to come back for it

Honestly?????

just lucky I was not there with 3 hungry grand children!!!

Often happens at bars to me, some dingleberry will be there getting his drink then calling to his crowd "who wants what" and there's always someone who doesn't really know and changes their mind several times before sauntering to the bar for a look at the real ales for minutes.........................Then has a half. :cursing:

I wouldn't put this under "annoys me beyond expectations" but more of a "why do people not find this annoying":

The American "comedy" show Cheers. I like having the TV on in the mornings and every time I scroll through the channels and get to Channel 5 where they are showing Cheers. I stay there for a few moments, some character does something (allegedly) funny, cue the background laughter and my finger frantically pressing + to get to he next channel.

I used to really like M*A*S*H but when I tried watching it again recently I couldn't put up with the extreme use of canned laughter.

I don't remember it being like that when I watched it decades ago. Either they have added the fakery since then or I have become much more sensitive to it!

I used to like Cheers too. I had been thinking of watching that again, but you have put me off!

(Yes, I realise that emoji use can be considered the typed version of canned laughter...)

People who regularly watch daytime TV, complaining some of it is utter drivel.

;-)

WHAT?????

I have seen every episode of Wheeler Dealers (about 10 times) and they are wonderful
(to some definition of wonderful - mostly involving not being awake yet)

if you want to complain about daytime TV look at the ads
and how they target people who have trouble thinking about money
then come round and I will explain - in detail why this is a bad thing - complete with details and examples
shouldn;t take more than a few hours

for a few days running

BTW - I am retired - in case that wasn't obvious

Homing in made little sense but honing in makes none at all!

I think Accy should relax before he has an aneurysm. Sit down, smoke some crack, enjoy a double Americano, and listen to a bit of Megadeth and you'll be chilled and mellow before you know it.

Dave Mustaine.

An absolute weapon.

Aside from his preachy bullsh!t, getting Rotting Christ booted from a festival in Greece is next level f*ckwittery.

You can use both. And they have slightly different meanings.

Home in means to locate and move toward something.
Hone in means to focus on something.
