Trivial things that make you annoyed beyond expectations?

I thought kilts were originally longer?

Hard to tell since it was a bit before my time.
A lot of the kitsch “ highland” stuff was invented by Sir Walter Scott in the 1800’s to ingratiate himself with the monarch of the time. Can’t remember the name but the one before Queen Victoria.

Why do cafe owners feel that they have an automatic right to block the pavement with chairs and tables outside?

This is a thing that's grown in the the last three years. Before 2020 they required an additional licence to allow them to place chairs & tables outside, which set rules on how much room they could take up. That's all gone now, they open, and the pavement outside their cafe is theirs.
Locally not one new licence issued since 2021, when the pubs applied for outdoor seating areas.

I keep seeing this on the roads, but encountered it in a car park this morning.

I noticed it was straddling two parking bays, quite unnecessarily.
And that towrope always looks immaculate/unused, making it nothing more than decorative string.
Skull & crossbones... my lad grew out of his pirate phase when he was about 6.

Gross. Proper etiquette should be to dry the spoon off by sticking it in ones mouth first.

The direction of rotation arrow on gp4000/5000.
It probably makes no difference, but I want it pointing in the right direction.
If it has to be there make it more obvious so that I can find it easily even when I'm in a hurry and my tyre's covered in clart by the side of the road in the rain.
(Secondary annoyance - auto correct changing clart to claret).

Surely the only time you need to worry about the direction arrow is when you remove the tyre completely, and how often does that happen at the side of the road? (I have never done that, I only ever open up one side to get the tube out.

I noticed that I had put a road tyre back on the wrong way round a couple of days ago. It might make a significant difference on an aggressively treaded MTB tyre but I don't think it matters much at all on a road tyre that is almost slick. I left it as it was.
