There's a tv advert doing the rounds at the moment that really annoys me.Its advertising Pot Noodles and there's a girl eating one in an office.Shes sucking up the dam thing like a vacuum cleaner and sounds like a blocked drain.
I switch the channel over when it's on as it drives me nuts

Dreadful things, the nutritional value and taste of boiled newspaper.
They were emergency food when sailing and the weather was too bad for anyone to risk cooking. In such weather situations we kept the Thermos full of boiling water.

Properly made in their home area they are delicious. But not out of a factory in Banbury or somewhere.
The big Chinese supermarket in Bristol has really nice ones though.

Once spent a wet afternoon in a restaurant in Shenzhen waiting for a contact. Was fascinating to watch the noodle chef making the noodles. He kept sending me little tasters and looking out for my reactions.
Fun.

The older I get, the faster I used to be ...
Brush attachments getting stuck on the end of vacuum cleaner pipes so that a hammer is needed
to change tools

Agreed, I loathe that advert too. It is one of those where I think "Is this somehow supposed to make me want the product"?

Emails from my credit card company telling me I "still have room to transfer on your account".

I've had that credit card account for well over 20 years now, and have never transferred any balances from other accounts, ever. Why woud I care I the slightest that I "still have room" to do so?

Yup - I keep getting message from companies telling me that I can improve my credit rating if I take out a loan

What???
and why do they think I want to - I have no record of taking out loans for anything for decades!!

A local music venue was due to re-open a week today. It had been completely refurbished and they had several great bands lined up, including two sell out shows. However a last minute dispute means that it's not going to happen.

It turns out that it wasn't a last minute dispute. The promoter had been in the building for 12 weeks without signing a lease or even paying a rent deposit! The landlord locked them out and demanded the money within 24 hours before he would let them back in again. The promoter had never had the money and so that was the end of that.

When you go online to check the stock of something you want to buy, and it says they have loads available. To then turn up at the shop and there's none in stock. To rub salt into the wound, you point it out to a member of staff and they just shrug and say "yeah I know, the system is rubbish". I could throttle them!

Mumbling on tv shows especially american ones.
I know my hearing isn't perfect but when i'm watching most british shows i can usually make out every word they are saying.
At the moment i am watching True Detectives season 4 with Judy Foster and it's very good but it's spoilt by the constant mumbling of the cast.
I've read it's all do to do with the new digital technology they are using now.

Wow - digital tech - sounds wonderful - great to move forward
sounds computery - got to be better

I know what you mean - we just put subtitles on by default with some things otherwise I miss half the speech - especially if they face away from the camera so I can;t see their lips
which does seem to be a throw back to the early days of "talkies" with the first microphone that only picked up sound properly from a small area

These computer things will never take off - flash in the pan as far as I am concerned!!!!

As if a checkout worker has any say in the stock and distribution system of the company yet face hostility from customers for things way outside if thier control.
