I won't have it that those drone things aren't dangerous. My dad used to fly model glider planes, launched off the top of hills, but they were made out of balsa wood and tissue paper hardened with a light resin coating and powered by an elastic band and propeller, probably weighing a pound in weight at most. I hope those who fly those drones have good insurance, to cover inflicted by the owner injury to others! I'd like to think that if one fell on me or my car, the one who owns the drone will have enough insurance to significantly compensate me. Maybe all these drones should have serial numbers/registration numbers linked to their owner, in case one falls causing damage so the owner can be traced, allowing the victim to make a claim against them.

Dope to be precise!

Prob weigh 4oz as you describe them!

Those were the days!

Vic smeed anyone!!!👍

Who has said otherwise?

I reckon a large majority of the drones around weigh much less than that "pound in weight" of the glider.

Most of them are no more than toys - and aren't any danger.

The big ones like the one above, particularly with no rotor guards, are another matter entirely.

Which is the size and weight I'm 'venting my spleen' about! I didn't mention the 'lightweight ones'. :okay:

You have to have a licence here, and there are strict rules about where you can fly them. Roads are off limits for most drones and flying over -or even near to- gardens is considered a breach of privacy laws as far as I know.

To be used in a well ventilated area, or better still outdoors.

Never knew it drank.

Shrinks sorry

You didn't mention weight at all, you just used an all encompassing "drones".

The above was found on the local Facebook gossip, lost/found cats, nail bars/hairdressers, takeaways etc etc stuff. Look at the size of that thing!! The thing was found after falling out the sky, by probably a few hundred feet! Imagine that object falling onto your car while driving it, or even worse on you head while out walking! It must have a wingspan of 5 feet and weigh a couple of stones. In my opinion, they should only be flown by professionals while doing search and rescue stuff!!:thumbsdown:

:rolleyes: :cuppa: :thanks::okay:
