Location

People who call university “uni"
People who refer to Christmas as Chrimbo or Xmas.
People who call me “Buddy” and even worse parents who call their kids “mate” “little man” or “buddy”
And holidays as 'Holibobs' 🤮

I always came home from uni at xmas so i could enjoy chrimbo holibobs with old buddies.
Got a problem with that, mate?

Yeah, that's pretty dire.

I suppose some would see the death of a 'street pigeon' as trivial, but not me. This aft' as I drove my car down a street the usual flock of pigeons were hanging around a barber's shop as he feeds them bird seed. Now when I see those pigeons in the road I'll pip my horn then wait for them to fly away and if they don't I'll blast my horn to move them. Yes, they are slightly annoying, but I wouldn't harm them. Unlike the evil git today who just drove at them without even slowing down to give them a chance. I'd just parked up before this happened and as I got out my car I saw a poor pigeon had been killed by this monster! It was in a bad way, but thankfully it wasn't clinging to life suffering and was deceased. Silly me took a photo of the poor thing. Why, I don't know but I won't post it as it was quite upsetting. A bloke off the nearby market came over with a plastic bag and a cardboard box to move it off the road. How about that eh! Blatantly killing a creature just for the sake of it! I think hell holds a special place as they say, for such humans!

Car drivers coming the other way who go past a passing space on a single track road before stopping. Then getting all grumpy when asked to reverse into the passing space not more than 15 feet behind them.

Oh yes!!
I used to live in North Wales and there were quite a few single track roads that we used - there were many times when I had to reverse up back up a road because someone else refused to reverse 20 yards to a wide turn-in to the local reservoir.
If I was in a hurry it was just quicker to reverse up the narrow bit - but a few times, when I was not ina hurry, I did just wait and make them reverse.
Worst time was on Holiday near Cardigan and an old couple "just couldn;t" reverse down the hill to a space 50 yards behind them - so I had to reverse 1/2 mile up a steep windy hill instead
The car that came up behind them even went back and walked up to offer to help
ended up in a cloud of clutch smoke and very annoyed

I know it is difficult and town people are not used to it but .....

BTW - I also know it is more difficult in some cars than others - my current car is a right pain because I can't see the actualt road for a LONG way back - but I still do it, just slower and with a few bits where I have to correct a lot

Just got an email from the Tax Advisor, who seems allergic to her phone and rarely contacts us until the bill comes in. We'd asked about our tax return as the local tax office was beginning to send Letters and it's her responsibility to get it in on time, not ours.

Her response was very strange; a rather whiny list of how much she has to do and how she's not had a holiday in ages with a rather curt sentence at the end saying she'll contact us as soon as she's done so please don't write any more.

After the returns are sent I think I'll find another tax advisor.

Don't disagree.

If I'm not back into the office until next Tuesday and someone wants further info on a case I've started, why do my colleagues forward the email to me rather than simply supplying the required info from the case file or the samples in the store cupboard?

That would mean that your colleagues would actually have to do some extra work.
