My parents number is still only 5 digits. They get annoyed when companies ask for their number and they quote it, to be told it's too short! So they have to state their number and say "that is correct, it's a short number". Some companies have even said they can't enter their number on the system becasue it's too short

Skoda and Hyundai.
Both are trying to get us to pronounce their name differently.
It’s nonsense, all brand names are anglicised.

Lidl have given up. On the early adverts it was pronounced 'Lid-l', now it's just 'Liddle.'

And that stupid Hey Car ad, some sort of Hip Hop racket, they insist on playing on Planet Rock Agggh! :cursing:

One that I have mentioned on here before is on the news, the telly or just generally, when they are talking about someone who has done something/something has happened to them at a young age or has died and they use the totally needless prefix of 'just'.

'He was was just nine'
'She was just 58'

At what age do you stop being 'just'? 🤷

Ditto with someone of advanced years being patronisingly described as, e.g., 90 years young. 🤬
