That is what was getting at. I find that sometimes there is nearer 20 minutes of ads and trailers per hour.

On top of that, many shows also do "Coming up..." to try to persuade viewers to stick around, and "What you saw before the ads..." to capture viewers arriving from other channels mid-broadcast.

Often, an hour long show can be cut down to around 30 minutes.

My sister takes this a bit too far and fast forwards through the 'boring bits' as well so that hour becomes a rushed 15 minutes!

We currently don't have a working arial, so everything is streamed (using Roku). Which means we can't usually skip the ads. Though I rarely watch anything but the rugby on ITV anyhow - I wish I could skip the Motorway ads then though.

The cycle shelter at my local Lidl is once again full of trolleys left there by lazy barstewards. It only takes one to start them off.
Only regarded as trivial because I was on the Brompton rather than a tourer. On previous occasions I've taken trolleys back to where they belong (and were probably collected from), but I wasn't in the mood today. I've also given feedback to Lidl previously about putting a "CYCLES ONLY" sign on the shelter, but...

I would tweet that photo to them pointing out there is no sign to inform their less intelligent / outright lazy customers what the purpose of the building is. Suggest a sign refers to a CCTV camera and fine.

I emailed them a few weeks ago with a similar photo and a suggestion of a sign, and today I've filled in a customer survey with a detailed complaint that they haven't placed a sign, and pointing out that if I have to move trolleys to park my bike I'll find it easier to ride the short extra distance to a recently opened Aldi. Good idea about the CCTV - it could well be covered already! I'm not on twitter, though that would probably be the most effective.

Local Aldi has the same problem at times, and there can be the odd invasion of a cycle stand bay at Waitrose down to the rather stupid layout of having a trolley bay immediately next to it.

Weird thing is that the trolleys have locks so they need a pound coin to take them
But if they are not supposed to be there then the first person to leave it there couldn't get their pound back

but left it there anyway

All that extra exercise to push the trolley a bit further would probably mean they would feel the need to scoff even more snacks so the losing the pound was the cheaper option.

Puzzle game procrastinator!
I would like to say to the first of these shopping trolley dumpers - "You are a lazy b*st*rd - those are bicycle stands, NOT a trolley storage area! The actual trolley area is just up that little ramp over there."

And to the subsequent shopping trolley dumpers - "You are ALL lazy b*st*rds - those are bicycle stands, NOT a trolley storage area! And just because someone else has done it before you, doesn't mean that it is okay for YOU to do it too!"

I suspect there's a way of releasing the pound by sticking something in the relevant slot - wouldn't be surprised if such a device is available on the bay, ali express or similar! Or maybe by cutting the release bit off another trolley...:cursing:

Personallky I use an old token from Tesco - fits the slot perfectly and the trolley people at the shop used to use them themselves

then it because too widely known and they changes the tokens to be too big

you can sometimes find a lost one around the trolley parks - I currently have 4 and give them out if I come across anyone who has not got a pound coin
everytime I give one away I find another within a day
which I regard as divine acknowledgment that this is the correct course of action
