Mine is a Kenwood, as is the dishwasher. Similar sounds Beeps so your Piezo device thought could be right.
There is no reason on God's good earth for my Samsung w/machine to play a tune, though, is there!!?

You can disable the Samsung tune. Ask me how I know this

As for the microwave, that has defeated me. It came with the Howdens kitchen and is rubbish. But it fits the space

Our Belling washing machine plays Brahms Lullaby, albeit in Eric Morecambe fashion, while you programme it. Then an extra trill at the end of the cycle

It's actually important rather than trivial, but...people who don't show respect to cleaners.

In my experience hospital cleaners have an important social function. They are often cheery and are the only people who come into a ward and you know they are not going to take you away to do terrible things.
I mention this to a senior nurse once and she completely agreed that they were a great help with patient moral.

Tourists who will not use passing places on single track roads properly. They stop just before the passing place and wait till you have stopped before moving forward.
Local vehicles adjust speed to meet in a passing place and pass often without slackening speed.
We mostly now indicate left just in case of unfortunate misunderstsndings.

True, but why restrict that to just cleaners...? Disrespectful people probably disrespect almost everybody, and almost everybody*** deserves respect!

*** Obvious exceptions for people like Putin, Hitler etc.!

See a couple of posts previous!

But yeah, the pandemic really highlighted certain professions and jobs that aren't respected or valued as they should be.

Ah, yes!

A friend of mine used to work as a bike mechanic. The shop charged £25-30 extra to service dirty bikes. Some customers complained and were told that they had a choice...
  1. Clean the bikes themselves and save the money.
  2. Don't expect mechanics to work on dirty bikes, or clean them for nothing - cough up the cash.
  3. Take their filthy bikes somewhere else and see how they get on there!

If/When we start repairs I think I may do that myself: it takes tine to clean a bike after all.

On your computer/phone/table when you are scrolling through a list such as new Word templates, YouTube videos, Audio books, things like that, and the first 2 or 3 words come up but then there are dots so you cannot see the entire title. It wouldn't be so bad if you can make sense of the 2 or 3 words that show up, but you (at least I) can't. Rather annoying but trivial!

I fancied soft to almost runny boiled eggs on crispbread for my lunch. Lately, no matter how I try I get firm to almost hard boiled, not soft eggs. Yes, I could put less water in my egg boiling device, so the eggs are boiled for less time, but then they might end up too runny.🤔 I mean look at it! It's so hard I can stand a spoon up in it!🧐

I'm sure eggs have changed a lot (mostly getting bigger) since we were kids.

I know when I was young, it was always 3 minutes for a soft boiled egg, 4 for hard boiled. Now, it takes at least 7-8 minutes (from when the water comes to boil) for a hard boiled egg, even when the egg has been in the water while it boiled as well.

Use Delia's method. Put the eggs in a pan of already boiling water, boil for one minute, then switch off the heat and put the lid on.
Time exactly 6 more minutes in the water for a perfect soft boiled egg with a liquid yolk.
Time only 5 minutes from turning off the heat if you like it really soft / runny.
I only learned this trick a few years ago, it's worked every time I've done it.
