My triple worked fine, and didn't need tweaking once I'd set it up.

Don't know if it is just me but triples always seem to need constant adjustment.

I'm the same BJ. I'm frequently having to tweak mine such that I'd probably go compact next time. The tolerances on a 30 speed are very small.

Well, mine was...erm...*counts*...24 speed. 13-26, with 48/38/24T chainrings.
I eventually gave it to Tdr1nka of this parish, and he never needed to adjust it either.
That's because it got stolen within a week...
