When I first got my new PC, TPV was buzzing along at over 100 FPS most of the time and I could hear the fan kicking in.

However it now seems to stay at or just below 30FPS and I don't think it looks as crisp. I have checked and it is on unlimited FPS in the Graphics settings - and I've set my bettery options to "Performance".

I have installed a new NVIDIA driver but I'm a real Luddite and don't know how to manipulate the GPU settings.

Any suggestions how I optimise the GPU here?

They are using the Unity engine, so it is only natural that after they added some much need foilage, performance will be lower. Maybe they have locked it at 30 FPS, like the current version of MyWhoosh. Next version of MyWhoosh (running UnrealEngine 5), will have the FPS cap removed - at least it is in the current beta.

TPV is very good and keen to see where it goes but the ability to jump on zwift and find a race with real people is too big of a draw for me at the minute.

Tried rouvy too which was interesting but got dull quite fast

Looks like I've found the problem thanks to the TrainingPeaks Virtual Riders and Racers page on FB. I disabled VSynch and FPS went back up to 110-140. Very pleased.

Gone very quiet on here - everyone riding outdoors or on other platforms now?

Some of us are still waiting for our smart turbo trainers to arrive...!

I have been told that tomorrow is my last chance to cancel my order, but given that I have waited 3 months so far and have been promised delivery in the next week or so, I might as well keep on waiting!

I had planned to spend weeks evaluating TPV before the free trial ended, and then spend 2 months on my free Zwift access (a voucher comes with the trainer), but I got notice that the TP (and therefore TPV) subscription cost will rise in April so I might just buy a 1 year subscription before the price rise. Does anyone know what the new price will be?

Haven’t been on TPV for a few weeks. I started it yesterday just to see if more foliage etc. had been added, but it looked just as boring as weeks ago. Not sure if I will be using it again before it becomes a paid product.

Back to MyWhoosh, as there are still many beautiful routes waiting to be explored - too bad most of them has a lot of climbing! :surrender: Subscription price remains the same...

That looked good!

Do you have a low maximum heart rate? You were doing about 50 W more than I could manage for 10 minutes and breathing like that. My heart rate would be 10 bpm higher than yours and it is 30+ bpm lower than it would have been when I was younger so I thought that mine was pretty low.

I have only started looking at HR and power data out on the road recently and find that data very interesting. I had assumed that I defaulted to a particular power level as I cycled along but it turns out that I am often subconsciously increasing and decreasing my power output to try to keep my cadence constant with ups and downs in the road and varying wind conditions. I see my heart rate and power going up for no apparent reason but then I realise that I am on a false flat which actually rises at, say, 1%. I am surprised how much difference that gradient makes.

I am heading off upstairs now to install it on my Apple TV box so I can check it out. Free is an excellent price!

If I remember correctly, Martin always has a low heart rate, so I wouldn’t compare to him.

I suppose mine was pretty high when I was young (I remember hitting 199 bpm on a steep climb once!) so even though it is much lower now, it is not super-low.

Just downloading MyWhoosh...

Done.

Hang on, it is asking for permission to track activity across other companies' apps and websites! What's that about? My inclination is to refuse unless there is a good reason to accept.

I just said NO! I can give permission later if I have to.

I wondered if it was to allow uploading ride data to Training Peaks etc., which I won't want to do.

MyWhoosh is now downloading nearly 5GB worth of route data, which will take some time at a poxy 5 Mb/s!

The splash screens while loading look nice! Hopefully, the app will look that good in use.

5Mb/s or 5MB/s? I have a 1 Gbit connection, so download at around 100 MB/s.

5 Mb/s!!

It was 16 for the first 7 or 8 years that I lived here but then it suddenly slowed down for no obvious reason. I just checked - it is a bit faster this evening - 7 Mb/s - but still slow by modern standards. As for upload speed - 0.44 Mb/s!

There seems to be a problem getting fibre to this street. We have been promised it by the end of next year.

I finally got MyWhoosh installed and opened an account. I did battle with the Apple TV remote to do that... I must see if there is any way I can use my spare Bluetooth keyboard on the Apple box!

Anyway, I finally got ready to watch a MyWhoosh ride but got a Remote URL error. I searched for help and found some guy called @Brusgaard complaining of the same problem a couple of days ago!

Any solution yet?

Remember to set your remote to Click and touch, in the ATV settings, if not done so already. With the few Bluetooth channels available on the ATV, I wouldn’t bother with a keyboard. You would probably use the Link app to connect stuff soon enough.

I really have few issues with MyWhoosh (using PC) but as expected, the new release has a few bugs - one of them not being able to watch/spectate a race.

But like with any platforms, people are having all kinds of issues. Most of the time people don’t read the system requirements page / supported equipment. Searching or scrolling down the MyWhoosh Facebook page also seems beyond their capabilities, as the same questions show up tens of times when a new release is out etc.
