I'm a Definite Maybe, depending on whether I arrange a holiday in Mallorca in time or not.

For anyone West or South Yorkshire based, I can also recommend this the following day:- http://www.wildboarchallenge.ik.com/ A low-key off-road outing that is rather harder work than you might expect and takes you to some interesting spots.

Hi guys - Excellent news that the course is not super steep - well relieved, as this is my first event. Only doing the short course, but still apprehensive.
Any ideas on the number of hills and at which mileage points - Unable to access the route on youtube.
Thanks for any help

Hello Chris James

Long time no see on here.

Hi Mark, only just picked up on this!

Work have cracked down (for everyone) on internet access so I only get to log on in the evenings and things have been very hectic!

Also my youngest ended up in hospital AGAIN (he's fine) and my wife has had keyhole surgery and is incapaciated so I have to spend every waking moment doing chores for her!

:laugh:Lol it's gonna be fun tomorrow! BBC forecasts gusts of over 50mph and all the tops are very exposed to the wind!!

Great, not that I'm up to tackling even the short ride tomorrow, I am hoping to get from Marsden up to Nont Sarahs, Denshaw, then back over Standedge....

decided against this when I saw the forecast for today - nearly got blown off my bike yesterday in the peaks

good luck to those that are brave enough to tackle the gale force winds

A very unlucky day to ride, I was meant to goto the lakes with someone for a 50 mile trip after catching the train, but we decided against it from listening to the forecasts and weather warnings around cumbria.

Annoyingly the sunday has less wind and is sunny!

Aye, weather seems very windy. I couldn't have gone anyway, couldn't get a lift down, so instead I'm going on a club run tomorrow.

Jeeeez that was tough! getting blown onto the opposite side of the road with the cross winds on the Isle of Skye
Crawling along in bottom gear almos everywhere!
No rest on the descents as a) bike twitching and blowing all over the place and  if you stopped pedaling you got blown back up the hill!!! Descents you would normally take at 30-40+mph were being done at 15!

How many dropped out of the 100km (like me) to do the 60km? QUite a few I bet. I salute anyone who manged the full 100km

Well done all who went out today in less than perfect conditions!

I did wince a couple of times today while out and about on foot today thinking of you out there.

Hard earned beer being enjoyed?
