Tour of Britain (Spectators Thread)

Wanting to go to stage 2,somewhere in trough of bowland.Any ideas a good place to watch,bearing in mind im going to drive somewhere close and ride with 11 year old son to watch.Thanks in advance

Do you mean forest of Bowland?, don't think tour is going over the trough itself. I am cycling up from Clapham and will either watch at the junction of Duggdale lane and Tinkers lane or the junction of Tinkers lane and the B6478. If you decide to go to either of these and see an OFF on a black and yellow ROSE say hello, might even wear a cyclechat jersey, if it still fits lol

Son is still of school ! So think I'm going to stick bikes in car and drive to Longridge then cycle to Ribchester and watch somewhere there.Thats the plan anyway.Stopping at every ice cream stop as a bribe to him,had to tell him Naymar was riding !! Love to be 12 again…….

I'll be interested to see how Geoghan-Hart, Carthy and Alex Peters in the GB team perform. Tao G-H has opted out of Sky to stay at Axeon for another year. Good decision I think.
Carthy is at Caja Rural also m=taking an alternative route, while Peters is signing for Sky.

Cavendish against his young team-mate Gaviria who beat him twice in T de San Luis is interesting too, although there aren't too many obvious sprints.

Just seen tje race cycling out of ribchester to Longridge,theres me thinking my 12 year old might struggle on hills !! Says dad still trying to breath......

i got a phone call today while i was sat at the finish line, it was my son who works for the northwest ambulance service,,,,,He said i can see you from here , he was only in the race organizers box over the top of the commentary box , , he couldnt sneek me in though .

I'll be watching in Ipswich. I haven't decided what vantage point to go for yet. There are plenty to choose from as the stage is going right around the edges of my neighbourhood. I guess they've read the crime figures.

I ll be watching stage 3 as it comes through Carlisle.My 94 year old mother,a lifelong cycling an d motorbike lover has issued a three line whip!Shes rather looking forward to it as the peloton should be full on as they pass_Im quite looking forward to it myself actually!
