Apparently when Thor's mechanics looked at the data on his computer yesterday evening they saw he'd touched 112kph on that descent.
I can believe it. He reached 94kph on Stage 10.

I think he had a spoonful of luck on his Weetabix (or maybe he has herring for breakfast), got into a good place with the breakaway, felt good and just went for it in a very single-minded way on the climbs - then everything flattened out at just the right time. If the breakaway had been brought back, or it had kept going upwards he wouldn't have been in contention.Whatever Thor had on his Weetabix yesterday, I'd like some too.
I think he's a fabul;ous and entertaining rider, but those were big old hills he was riding up.
I know he's fast descending (and I share one of his advantages) but he wasn't hanging about on the climb either...
Voeckler Stunning !
Is anyone else sick of seeing poor Jens bust a gut riding flat out for the first ks of the last climb to catapult the Schlecks into orbit and then.....nothing happens? I hope he's on a bloody good salary.

To be fair, Evans can hang in there and wait for the TT, but the Schlecks have to produce something if they want to win. I think Berto is off form and already too far down, unless he produces something superhuman in the Alps.To be fair - the Schlecks were trying to produce something, Evans and Contador weren't.

But my point is, it's so sad to see O'Grady and Jens work their balls off all day just to see the two brothers wander to the top of the climb looking at each other.
