I blew a tyre descending the alpe the day after the stage. Lots of traffic so braking more than usual and heated the rims up too much.
Luckily the hairpin bend went the right way for me and I had a runoff.
Day before I was coming down the back of the alpe where they don't even bother with guard rails...

Poor old Simon Guglielmi.
What a pointless, futile effort he is putting in.
Chapeau.

Well I must admit I'd never heard of him before, so he's successfully advertised himself and his sponsors. Hooray for Simon Gugliemi of Arkea Samsic. Good old Guggers.

Unfortunately, I'll forget all about him by this evening. And who he rides for.

Cavendish: "I was on the right wheels... Once I kicked, my gears jumped from the 11 to 12. I had to sit down. Then it goes back to the 11, I tried to stand up again, and then back to the 12, and then sit down. There was nothing you could do. I'm bitterly disappointed."
