This is very stressful for Cav fans!
Cav is going to find it hard to get the one win he needs with the other sprinters having faster lineouts!!

I doubt if the greatest cyclist of all time is interested in what is a very minor record in an enormous great big pile of personal records.

According to ITV4, today's stage is rather hilly: "Stage 5: Pau - Laruns: The first mountain stage of the Tour, with four categorised climbs including two hors-categorie ones. The finish is at Laruns."
The official https://www.letour.fr/en/stage-5 site shows one HC, one cat 3 and one cat 1. That's three climbs, one of which is HC.
Hmmm, who to believe?

As far as I can see there's no stage that has two HC climbs on it ?
Today's stage should be a bit more exciting.
Not a hard-core race fan but imo there are some aspects of the tour that really don't work very well.
Starting with yesterday's non-event; what a bore-fest it was.
Leon Sanchez out, broke his left collarbone in the last kilometer of yesterday's stage...get well soon !
Also MVDP got a penalty for his lead out of Philipson,no penalty for Jasper so the win still stands.
Philipsen was competitive and won the stage by by MVDP’s manouevre into Biniam.Sounds like Jasper is quite lucky there - although I haven't seen the infringement, so it may not have helped him one jot, and you can roast me! :P
We need those flat stages though, the riders need to still ride it and that's what makes it a race of attrition over the three weeks. As much as I'd like 21 days of mountains and climbs it wouldn't work.Today's stage should be a bit more exciting.

Definitely maybe needs a two strikes and your out ? As in it's a team sport so if your lead out continually does it your penalized too. That's a bit of a loophole as your leadout man can barge and headbutt you to the front with no penalty for you. Not that I pretend (or even try) to understand all the rules about sprinting.
