Too much water?

Are you drinking as an excuse to rest up for a couple of minutes?

This is so true.. Went out for an hour and half this morning and left water behind purposefully. I stopped for a breather for a couple of minutes but realised I didn't need the water. The whole ride was reasonable work as I had a headwind for half, but I didn't suffer any ill effects for not having taken anything. I think I've been taking too much.

Was going to say exactly the same thing. Forgot my water for a 90 minute run on Sunday morning. Did my best time, highest average speed, and floored it all the way home. No impact at all on performance.

I wouldn't say I stop as an excuse to drink. I was starting to get sciatica while cycling today so I decided to stop for a minute but didn't take any water. I drank most of the water when I stopped nearly home to go into the shop and buy some bits. The sun suddenly came from nowhere!
