That's yesterday's storm out of the way. Now we can get back on topic and talk about tomorrow's storm again!
Don't think it's been given a name yet, probably because it's too far north (i.e. north of Birmingham) for the met office and BBC to bother their arses about.

Picking up again here .
There's so much of the sea on my house I can hardly see out of the windows there that salty.
Off out to get a bit of clear up started, first job is lob nextdoors stuff back in there garden. Fence etc.
Hopefully not as windy as yesterday but I don't hold up much hope.
Lots of hangers and wobble fencing I doubt will last the day.

Wickes were doing a 'roaring' trade in fence panels, they were flying of the shelves. I grabbed 2 clear PVC corrugated sheets for my repairs as they only had 4 in stock, so decided to go at 7pm last night rather than risk being sold out this morning.

Good skills. It's like 60miles round trip here for any building materials so it can wait.
Neighbours greenhouse is now dust all over their garden. Glass everywhere.
I can't find my incinerator bin lid. Gone with the wind lol.
Started blowin here again so lobbed next doors stuff back and hideing indoors again.
I did see that the big tree end of the road has been shoved out the way. Probably the farm contractor that lives other side .
I have got s***loads of work to get on with Monday.
Tree cutting and fencing I think for the next month or so.

Blimey.... the greenhouse glass isn't cheap anymore - I replaced one side of ours last year and it was about £150 from a local glaziers.

Right need to get off this laptop and go do the repairs. We use the hot tub gazebo to store the garden cushions (adds to insulation) nd they are currently clogging up the conservatory.

Exactly! The wind speed forecast for here is as bad as Friday’s Eunice, but because London won’t be affected then they don’t really seem bothered…🤷‍♂️

Just a 'small chance'. Displaced and broken ridge tiles now removed from roof (slightly scary scalling using two sequential ladders, but before the wind picks up again). The one that fell yesterday missed next door's car by a couple of feet. So the ones teetering up there, held only by friction, were an 'existential' danger (to life: https://www.dropsonline.org/resources-and-guidance/drops-calculator/e-drops-calculator/ )

"The Met Office, Met Éireann and KNMI have announced the storm names they have selected from over 10,000 submissions put forward by the UK public in summer 2021. The names chosen reflect the diversity of the UK, Ireland and the Netherlands."
I find it difficult to believe that "the UK public" submitted GLADYS (lovely name though it is) in any great number. I suppose one could say the same about EUNICE (lovely name though it is).
"there are no storms [or names] for Q, U, X, Y and Z" so eat your heart out Quentin, Una, Xavier, Yvette and Zebidee]

My sister was due to fly out to Lanzarote from Stansted at 10:15 on Friday. Her plane finally took off just after 16:35.

It could have been worse and you could have been on one of the incomming flights. Watching the amount of go-arounds and those in holding patterns on Flightradar24 was fun way of filling a quiet afternoon at work with Felixstowe Port having been shut down all day.
Watched one that had diverted from Leeds-Bradford to Manchester, go back to Leeds-Bradford. Two failed attempts at landing before diverting to Teeside, where it landed on the second attempt.

It came in at 45° to the runway at Leeds-Bradford, the second time.

Gazebo roof repaired - the two 'outer' panels done. Started raining as I mentioned above 'better get off the 'laptop'. Couldn't feel my fingers nor the 'fixings' in my pocket. All done. Also repaired two holes in a parking space caused by petrol spils from my son - grab adhesive mixed in with the stone from the tarmac - no tar as that had been dissolved by the pertol. Poured a aload of degreaser down and scrubbed the whole parking space. The rain will rinse it now.

They had the Big Jet TV guy (Heathrow landings live for 9 hours, up to 230,000 watching at max, Jerry Dyer) on the radio this morning, finishing off with him commentating on an 'end' in the men's curling gold medal match, before the pips. Though I thought his "Bosh" was rather half hearted as the final (of the end) GB stone swept away a winning Swedish one.
