I live within 5 miles of the severn bridge on the top of a hill that overlooks the severn and wye valleys and the welsh hills. No joke I see rain clouds blowing upstream 80% of the time and when I go to wales for work it is rarely ever dry and I don't think i've ever been able to go across the bridge without some rain at somepoint.
BTW, if you were on the A466 from Monmouth to Chepstow, that climb up from Tintern is absolutely lovely. Not difficult at all and definately not steep, but almost alpine like.
I only really dipped a toe in England. But it got wet. I'm back in Wales now, and it isn't raining. Make of that what you will!

must admit mainlaind wales is like a sponge, on the coast however it never flippin rains, all blows over too quick.
