I eat a handful of food less a day, so, less carbs (I consume a ridiculous amount of rice) and same amount of protein.

Then increase my exercise, whether it be going for a run or a spin on the bike. If you can get out in the evening whilst it's still light, or morning (depending on your work hours / shift) twice more or three times, keep it up over a month, the weight will peel off you.

Curbing the hunger is all part of the losing weight process, just drink a glass of water instead.

There's no need to feel hungry when you're trying to improve your diet. You can eat loads aslong as they're the right sort of foods.
Don't eat anything with a long list of ingredients, avoid pre packaged foods, cut down sugar and don't buy anything with " diet " on the label.
Nuts and dried fruits are great for on the go grazing. To satisfy your sweet tooth try a couple of pieces of dark chocolate after a meal.
And drink plenty of water or juices.

Juice can be very high in calories and sugars...stick to water or at least water down the juice

Personally I prefer to eat not drink my calories. Alcohol is the real devil, cut it out . I have just done 6 months dry, not lost much weight but I've far more enjoyed the food I've eaten in its place :hungry:

To the Op what wrong with a salad, you just have to include interesting stuff, some low fat protein options etc

And if you eat because you're bored find something to do to interest you. I never got into the habit of grazing on sweets, crisps, etc. because I've always done a lot of sewing. If your hands are busy you can't constantly be digging into a packet of sweets.

If you're just sitting around the house feeling bored go out for a walk - don't take any money with you so you're not tempted to buy snacks while you're out. Maybe take an apple to eat or a bottle of water.

Diets really are a personalised thing - what works for some people won't work for others.

PERSONALLY - I eat either porridge or no added sugar museli for breakfast - washed down with a black coffee.

Lunch is usually either beef jerky with a wholemeal roll, or chicken or turkey in a wholemeal roll (breast, not reconstituted, watch out for how much salt is added) and then an apple and banana.

Mid afternoon snack is some unsalted nuts.

Dinner is usually something like turkey bolognese with brown pasta or a stir fry with brown rice - pack both with as much veg as you can into any meal IMO. Usually have some raw chopped veg as a side as well.

I drink sparkling water with slices of lemon and lime squeezed in.

That's my diet Sunday-Thursday - Friday and Saturday I eat and drink what I like.

I cycle around 15 miles a day.

So, that works for me, but may be totally ineffective for someone else - play around with healthy food and habits and try and get into a routine - all IMO

so my idea of eating healthy is a chicken kebab over a donna kebab. Does anyone have any tips on calming the eating urge. I could do with the weight off as i can't afford a lighter bike.

Nothing wrong with a chicken sheesh kebab mate!

If you have a smart phone you could download my fitness pal to track your calories.

Snack on Unsalted nuts, eat healthy fats, they fill you up for longer as they have more calories in, just make sure you track what you eat thats the main thing.
I pretty much eat what i like, just make sure i get atleast 150g protien, eat lots of fruit and dont go over my intended calories.
After a coulpe months it becomes easy and you will know how many cals you getting with out tracking on your phone, you learn whats in what. Hope that helps a little good luck
