I'm no scientist but I seem to remember warm air expands so it is less dense. So that could be why you seem to cut through it faster?

I am loving cycling in the warm evenings, I confess I am a bit of a fair weather cyclist, although with my new project that will have to change.

There is a three dimensional chart which uses Ambient temperature, Atmospheric barometer and Relative humidity to estimate Oxygen density.

This is what effects performance.

Even in these relatively low temperatures, the oxygen density will be near normal at 20.6 %.

With a 2 day newborn, and a 4 year old and a 3 year old - it isnt the weather that is curtailing my early morning weekend ride
However, with 2 weeks paternity leave I'm hoping to get some cycling in-between dutiful father duties..

I've been using my bike just about the same really. But it's worse when it's hot, because I have been contantly hot for the past five months at least (even if it' cold outside) [it's not swine flu or anything. Been having the windows open and the fan on no matter what the weather. Even tried tying a battery operated one to my bike!

lol Didn't work (probably would have if I used masking tape though). Got an appointment with an endocrinoligist on the 9th, so hopefully get some answers (cos there's other symptoms too that I've had for years), though the appointment is outpatients and it should have been a 24 hour one.
