Call me wet ( literally) but I am fed up with the pissing driving rain and high winds.

Really made me miserable to be honest.

How many of you have reduced the hours in the saddle/miles cos the weather is crap ?

Or am I being a bit of a girl ?

I hate it too. My house is flooded.

The carpets in 6 of the downstairs rooms are wrecked.

I work shifts and I commute so my mileage varies. But this week coming I'm due for 158 miles in 4 days with a 12 hour working day so I'll be shagged by Friday!!!!!

I say keep to your 100 target. You'll feel great each week that passes.

good luck

All of a sudden bad weather doesn't seem that big a deal when you read about someone's house being wrecked

Hope you get a fairly hassle free repair.

Dave.

This is a good thread (apart from the bad news of someone's house flooding).

As a very new cyclist on the scene (one week) I would be interested to know how many of you hardened cyclists mileage is adversely affected by this weather or is everyone as hard as nails. I am now equipped with all the right clothing but have yet to test it in anger.

I remember cycling to school many years ago in the rain. It was pretty crap then...

I don't let it stop me. I went out last night in the pouring rain and went through nearly 2ft of water in a dip in the road. I unclipped went through at about 15mph and I'm ashamed to say i lifted both legs up and shouted 'wweeeeeeeeeeeeee' until I was through it :biggrin:

It was dark and in the middle of nowhere so nobody saw me but it reminded me of being 5 again

Us hardened York/Hullites went out today, but I'm not sure any of us would if we hadn't we'd already agreed to meet up...

That's the trouble of not having someone to call it off

soaked thursday cycling in the peak district, was dry this am so went out for a quick 50K spin an hour into the ride it buckets it down. Soaked again. Still better than just staying indoors watching the ducks. Maybe I'll take up canoeing but it looks like I'll need to build an ark....
