OK, you stayed one night a couple of weeks ago as you were working in the area. Another day I gave you a lift. This time you've stayed two nights. You're a lovely person and it's been great to connect, but seriously? After food, wine, whisky, clean sheets, me changing my plans and you borrowing my bike, where's the tiny little house-gift that you might have thought to bring? You know, bottle of wine (perhaps at least half as nice as the one I opened for you last night), box of chox, jar of jam (now that you've eaten quite a lot of my home-made) - it's not as if I invited you! In spite of our interesting talks and your general aimiability, I might be "away" or "busy" next time...

You've got one last chance this lunchtime.

Ignoring a tantrum is one thing, but ignoring yourself, your spouse, and your other child being repeatedly kicked?
Ah, forgot about the kicking bit and focussed on the tantrum bit. Can parents kick them back??

Ah the old 3 strikes and you're out thing. So much more patience than me as I am more of a 'you've enjoyed my hospitality twice now with no 'thank you', let's not make it a third time' sort of girl.

Well he does say thank you, he's not verbally unappreciative, but that's all. He's a nice guy. But it's like he thinks I'm a really nice, friendly hotel. Maybe he thinks he's giving me a good enough time just by being there.

EDIT: and meant to add, he doesn't wash up, offer to wash up, or even put his plate in the dishwasher when he is having a sarnie but I am not.

That is an awful bike. It's going to cost more to fix than it's worth and you should just scrap it and get a proper bike that hasn't got front and rear "suspension", isn't made from cast iron and all of the cheapest components the east has to offer and preferably one that will at least fit in a bike stand and doesn't take two strong men to lift. Now get out of my sight and don't return untill you've got a bicycle. And no, £15.00 is not a lot of money for a new brake cable and pads. Fitted. Now F**k off.

Sounds like just the sort of thing the proprietor of my LBS probably would say.....

Yes dear neighbour. You have a new big effing motorbike that looks like it goes very fast. But please don't bore the tears out of me telling me how fast it is and how big and powerful the engine is and that I should try riding a motorbike as it's much more fun then riding a push bike. You don't or cant believe that someone else is not interested in motorbikes. Is that because when you asked me what I thought of the bike I just said, 'yes, it's a motorbike'. I really don't care for any motorbikes or cars or any motor vehicles for that matter. I used to own motorbikes before you were a little wiggly thing in your dads nutsack. I don't bore you silly about my push bikes and cycling so please refrain from doing so with me about your loud, polluting motor thingy.
