With all the animal welfare talk at the moment about Operation Ark and the attempt to save 170 or so animals in Kabul and the staff who looked after them, it's all gone quiet over Geronimo. Serious question. Is he still alive?

The variety and attractiveness of British railway stations. We have nice stations too, but British station designers of the 1800's were in a league of their own.

This was possibly because for a long time they could spend money like water and thus indulge huge impressive stations for tiny villages, but still...
We've got this cracker 6 miles north of where I live. Wemyss Bay railway station (more photos on link), and ferry terminal. The train line runs to Glasgow via Greenock, Port Glasgow, and Paisley. The ferry sails to Rothesay on the Isle of Bute (my place of birth and former residence).

Scottish autumns, rowans, birches, aspens, bracken, fresh mornings and geese returning.

I think we're quite renowned for it I believe, if however you have experience of similar humour in say Germany or France ect then perhaps it's not?

You can do some research and provide links later if you want.😉
Our dark humour is lightweight compared to the Scandinavians, particularly Iceland.

Returning Whooper swans ^_^ just as i miss the Ospreys when they go I look forward to the Autumn arrival of the Whoopers, They fly over in quite large numbers and are often vocal as if theyre enjoying coming back. The following is written about an unforgettable memory looking out over the Dornoch Firth

Heading Home

Nothing could surpass
such beauty
I confidently mused.

An evening sky on fire!
Glorious reds, purple and gold
framed within a perfect cobalt blue.

Nothing could possibly improve
or be finer than this artist's delight.
Of this I was certain.

Then suddenly appearing overhead
an elegant V formation
of the purest white Whooper swans.

Flying directly into the setting sun
like they were on a mission.
And had an appointment with God.
