After a torrid week, having to put our beloved cat down - I went for my usual lunch time ride in the dull and cold Chilterns today. On the way up a hill, I was escorted along the road by a tiny tiny brown mouse, he was along side me on the white line for ages, I eventually managed to scalp him and we both carried on our separate ways. Then a few miles later a massive Hare decided to cross the road ahead and run in the same direction as I was going - he was so big he could jump the tall grass between strides. He was faster than me and eventually dived up a side lane. Both of these nature encounters made me smile a lot, and reminded me how wonderful animals are.
