Rudely awoken at 5 am by the most enormous thunderstorm.
There was no warning of distant rolling thunder to get used to, just a single massive explosion that shook the house and woke us all up.
It now raining which is nice.
One brief heavy shower so far, other than that yet again very warm and muggy. It looks like the weather forecast was wrong again and all the rain has been about 30 miles to the west.
Overcast in this bit of Devon (Crediton/Exeter area) but due to get sunny in an hour or two, and stay like that all day. Not super-warm (18-21 C) and feeling 2-3 degrees less than that in a blustery breeze. I aim to go out to do a 100 km ride and those temperatures will suit me, but the wind could be a bit of a pain - 19 kph, gusting to 32 kph (12-20 mph).
Spoke too soon . It has clouded over and looking like rain isn't far away. My fault for even thinking about doing the 16 mile cycle to work for my 12.00 start (only 10 miles by car, which is looking like the better option today ).
What cr&p forecasting for today (it was wrong for yesterday too). Absolutely hissing down here and the good ole BBC are still transmitting "no rain today" for us. Carol just needs to look at the radar FFS..........
