I was woken from a deep sleep by a huge bang and incredible bright light last night. The ripple noise above went on for quite a few seconds. That strike must have been very very close. Quite scary. When I didn't notice the house falling down around me I went back to sleep. This morning we had a deluge for about half an hour. Gutters couldn't cope, rivers running down the street......... At the moment it all looks pleasantly benign and even some blue in the sky.
