I would ask you to marry me but I'm afraid you will be disappointed on our 1st night.

The bin men have been. That's my excitement for the entire week

Some days it's a trip to the tip that makes my day. There's an odd satisfaction in taking a load of stuff that's been cluttering up garage etc, I sometimes get a sense of achievement making a tip trip which is ridiculous when you think about it. Especially as it's a regular occurance for me given size of garden I have.

I go so often I'm expecting an invite to their Xmas party this year.

Just had a shave and a shower (had the other bit earlier). Sounds simple but with my gammy legs and fatigue it's bl**dy hard work.
Anyway, fresh tee shirt and a pair of shorts PLUS ankle socks I am ready for the pub in 10ish minutes.
TBH I would rather go back to bed but us battle hardened warriors must be brave.

Why do you choose to have your groceries delivered rather than going to the shops?

This is something I have never done. We did try placing an online order once, possibly 20 years ago. Got so far and then lost the lot before the order was placed. Never tried again since. I guess things have changed in that time????

The two main reasons are that I don't shop at only one supermarket and I'm not happy, from an environmental perspective, with the vast number of home delivery vehicles on the roads.

I like to do my main shop at Aldi. I'm happy with the overall quality for day to day stuff, the store layout never changes (big plus), and the prices are good. Then I have to use Tesco for things either Aldi don't do or the quality isn't good enough. For example Aldi washing up liquid has gone way down in quality and Tesco offer1.5 litre Fairy Liquid at a very good price. Coffee. Can't get decent coffee in Aldi. I refuse to use Tesco for a main shop unless it's absolutely unavoidable. The Tesco management are world leaders in conning and ripping off the consumer. Shopping in Tesco takes for ever because one can't trust the special prices and one has to compare the per gram, per litre price on every item. A recent example in Tesco. Club Card price for Anchor spreadable £7.50 for 500g pack. On the next shelf are 400g packs at £3.25 = 800g for £6.50. £1 less for 300g more. Tesco are robbing, thieving so and sos.Everry little helps..................yep every little helps towards the £2.7 - 3.0billion profits.

Then of course I need Morrison's for Aviation gin and Booth's when we need the unusual stuff.............

Good Morning. It's a beautiful day in Manchester. I should be riding but after yesterday's ride and now in to the fourth day's childminding I'm very tired. After delivering #2SP to nursery I went back to bed! I've had a WhatsApp from Mrs P asking what I'm doing today and mentioning my lad's roses need pruning. I was non-committal in my response.

Strictly between us. After yesterday's gravel ride my bike needs a good clean, about two miles down the road is Slattery's a famous cake shop and next door, literally, is Cookson's, a well respected bike shop........................I feel a trip coming on. Their addresses are number 195 and 197!!!!!

Cooksons Slattery's

One of the reasons I love gravel riding is the wide variety of scenery of every imaginable type. This is not just lovely countryside but parks, back streets, industrial heritage, community involvement, all sorts of stuff and then........

........we pop up, on the Rochdale canal, in Ancoats. Very hip, very cool Manchester. Full of young people. Great atmosphere. Buzzing with life. We must have increased the average age at the cafe stop (well artisan bakery) by at least a decade......or two.
