Good morning all.
On the radio they're going on about it being a bank holiday, every day is a bank holiday for us retirees. 😁
A bit cool out there this morning with a little bit of cloud..
I'm going to cut the grass later on and a little tidy up in the garden.

Good morning from a grey Dorset. Rain forecast mid morning and a week of overcast weather ahead.
Had a bit of a fridge clear out yesterday and ended up with salad, jacket potato, spinach tortilla and falafels for tea, it worked surprisingly well. Not a lot planned for today, emptying the dishwasher is first task and I need to clear out the old insulation from an area of the loft, a task I am not looking forward to.
Have a peaceful day folks ☕️☀️

Good morning all.
8° here with a real mixed bag of weather in store. Not good for tomorrow with rain all day.
Bank holiday!! The BBC reckon the roads will be solid with traffic. All our married life, as far as I recall, we never went anywhere on bank holidays, maybe just a local walk etc.
Leave the queues to others. Just my opinion of course.

Much the same in our house. Mrs P and I will go for a local walk on Sunday. I need to test my gammy knee before we go away on a short walking holiday in ten days. Mrs P needs to test her dodgy breathing! We're hoping one of us will make it home!

Good morning. A real jumble of weather today, sun, cloud, showers. Lots of bits and pieces to do before we set off for the footie this afternoon. This will be my last match this season. Although Rovers have one more home game next Saturday I will miss that as we're going to a wedding. It's a relief really, I've had enough of this season. A disaster all round.

My #1 task is to get my hearing aids working. This is a real old person problem and I'm quite embarrassed by it. Three weeks ago it was quiz night. I replaced the batteries, put the aids on and all was good. By the time I got to the club things didn't seem quite right. I fiddled with the app and they completely stopped working. I really need to sit down quietly, keep calm, not get cross and work it out.................the fact I have the old app and the new app on my phone doesn't help.............I'm not sure which is which!!!!! I feel a trip to Specsavers might be easier, swallow my pride and find a young person who will be nice to me..............

Morning folks :okay: Sunny n chilly here. Ive been buying plants/flowers online the last few weeks...trouble is theyre from down south where its much warmer and the growth is advanced. Everyday i have to keep an eye on temps and bring them all into the house if i dont want to lose them. A lace cap hydrangea [blue bird] would drop dead if it got frosted  Will grow shrubs on in pots through the summer and plant them out in the autumn. :okay:

Ah, our great Welsh adventure ends today 🫣
16 pals, all in a massive Airbnb. Lots of laughs with a good bunch we have known for decades. Even had one teach us a bit of tai chi in the garden 🤪

8 of us went headfirst for a mile across a quarry at over 80mph (ZipWorld) - their gift to me for big b’day last year, amazing fun. Highly recommended - looks horrifying from the bottom, but actually taking part was VERY safe and actually felt quite serene in a rapid sort of way, not scary at all 😜

5 of us scaled Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon) yesterday - beautiful weather, but very busy….tired legs today.
Others chose to visit some local NT gardens, a local walk, or even go to an airfield for some views.

Mrs MikeIOW even met up with an old school friend she hadn’t seen in 30 years - a nice evening out.

All in, a brilliant week.

Morning all :hello:

Off to the Kildare Lodge Beer Festival in Minehead later on today.
Will go in on the steam train and stop overnight at our mates place.
Should be a good evening.

Apparently, it improves Dave 7s flexibility.
Owdo

You'll be in the Curragh?

You mean he can bend down, whilst standing, and touch his toes. Then return to an upright position, without a safety net/mat.

I suspect this is too far away for you but Hopetoun Gardens, Edinburgh is very good if you're ever through that way. I used to trade with them when it was owned by Dougal Philip and Lesley Watson. It is now employee owned. When I knew the centre they were very proud to always use local Scottish plant suppliers whenever possible to overcome the problem you describe. It made selling to them hard work!! I don't know if it is still the same policy.
