Good morning all.
Another day of not doing a lot except the exercises, ice packs and resting up.
My neighbour wants me to have a look at his bike, he thinks he has a puncture so he's bringing it around at 9.30.
I noticed yesterday that my potatoes are breaking through, so soon be time to start earthing them up.😁

Good Morning. 'Tis clear and sunny and we are forecast for a beautiful day, before a very soggy Friday and apparently a sunny weekend. That would be good as I haven't had a ride this week. Shortly I will begin ironing followed by stretching and weights. I like to spend a bit of time up and about, mobile before I begin stretching. This morning the workout will be focused on core. Always tough.

Later I'm helping a friend with an application for a TPO on some local trees. We're in a Conservation Area which gives blanket protection but not individual. A local "developer," that's how he sees himself, bought the farm adjacent to the village and wants to build four houses on the land. Truth is he's bought a pig in a poke as the existing historical access is completely unsuitable for construction traffic - the bin lorries can't get down it! Lord, knows how a fire engine would. This is his fourth planning application. We are not nimbys but the developer wants to use a different 2.6 metre wide dirt track that runs through the village as the access road. Every application has failed to date but we have to keep on top of it. Lancashire Highways have objected to the planning unless the track is widened to 4 metres plus 2 metre passing places and offers protection to pedestrians. To achieve this the developer would have to rip out a mature hedgerow plus several mature trees. The concern is his guys might turn up with chainsaws one day. We want TPOs to give us much protection as possible. This has happened locally with another developer. They just take the fine on the nose and shrug their shoulders. My garage and allotment, separate parcels, would have to be purchased to allow the necessary width. that isn't happening.

Watch out for Paul with his clipboard, map, laser device and tape measure!

As per previous conversations regarding TV Licences.. We don't have/watch 'live' television broadcasts and haven't for years.
We filled in the blurb on the website to declare that we don't.
A while ago we got a quite threatening & intimidating letter informing us that we had watched something on BBC iPlayer (and they told us what, where & when we watched it) We don't have iPlayer..
I put in a FOI request for the details of this allegation and, the following week, surprise surprise, we hadn't watched anything since we declared that we did not need a licence.
I can only conclude that they were attempting to scare us by using threars & outright lies.

Morning all :hello:

Nice day in prospect. Bit of gardening and a bit of workshop tinkering.
The WSR have announced that the Flying Scotsman will be a guest locomotive in July. That'll bring the crowds in!

That is exactly what they do.
It's impossible for them to know what services you've used without accessing your internet history, which would be a breach of the Data Protection Act. They are in a Catch 22 situation and they know it - hence the questionable methods they use. The company doing this - Capita - have no legal right to do anything at your property. The 'TV Licencing Officers' are just low life door to door salesmen on commission. Tell them to do one if they knock on your door.

Porridge, the best start to every day rain or shine summer or winter. Perfect fuel for every day but especially so for sustained activity.
I have mine made with milk, with a chopped banana, walnuts and honey. Yum!

In fact I'm ploughing through a sizeable bowl as I type in readiness for ride.

Morning. A bit overcast again but dry at the moment.

Riverside trail walked. I’m trying to pick up my walking pace as it has dawned on me that my pace over the last few years seems to have slowed quite a bit.

Porridge with blueberries now.

I know what you mean about walking pace. I was a naturally fast walker and it came as quite a shock when I started to get overtaken by random people. I was on the trailway when a gent of a similar age went past me. I watched and analysed his pace and gait as he drew ahead of me. This revealed that his cadence was faster than mine ( pace is cadence x stride length ). I do cadence drills a couple of times a week, and am doing hip squats and warrior pose to increase flexibility and hopefully increase stride length.
