That got me interested enough to Google it (I know, sad eh).
Apparently an average domestic one uses 2 gallons per minute while commercial ones use 10 gallons per minute.
It's all relative but that seems a lot to me.eteas

Whereas an ordinary garden hose uses 10 gallons per minute.

Wow - I just sort of assumed that the pressure washers used loads more

never checked - so now I will have to !

Addendum - one year a long time ago - when we had a hosepipe ban due to lack of rainfall
(and NOT - really NOT - a lack of effort from the water companies to repair leaks)
then we were told that washing a car with a hose used twice as much as using a hosepipe

so as soon as the ban was lifted I tested it

I knew - because I had checked - that it took me 3 buckets full to wash the car
one ot wash it
2 to rinse it

tries it using the hosepipe to rinse it and that used 1 1/2 buckets
so a saving of 1/2 a bucket - not using an extra 2 buckets as stated

so I tried it without the spray nozzle on the hosepipe and that took a lot more - as stated

so - as I suspected - it is the nozzle on the hosepipe that makes the difference
and the pressure washer uses quite a narrow nozzle

you see - I have been a prdantic nosey old b****r for many decade - not just since I got older!!!

Good Morning. Well it's better outside than promised, sunny but cool. A bad night last night. I woke at 3.00am bathed in sweat and feeling nauseous. This seems to be passing ut still feel queasy.

#1SP is here. Granddad is eating breakfast and browsing, Nana is getting dressed and SP is in the kitchen cleaning the cupboards........don't ask. All Queries should be addressed to Mrs Nana SB.

Now I have a worry. A major worry. Our milk jug is missing. It's nowhere to be found. The worry is I have put it somewhere thinking that's where it lives instead of in the fridge. 😱

This is almost the same theory v practice of taking a bath or a shower.
If you leave the plug in (assuming the shower is over the bath) there's a lot less water in there than if you had taken a bath.

Hurrah! I do not have early onset dementia. The milk jug has been found. It was in the microwave. Of course. Silly Granddad. Why didn't you look in there?

I have spoken to Mrs P. She has admitted putting said jug in there while making bechamel sauce. Why one would put the full milk jug in the microwave is a conversation I decided it would be best not to begin!!!

My declining sanity isn't a question.......
yet......

My Nilfisk C110.7 pressure washer has a flow rate of 440 litres per hour.
