Just come back from a ride

As SWMBO is out with her friend all day I decided to go a bit further and stop for lunch
I have been meaning to go and look at the Anderton Boat Lift since i moved in here over 10 years ago and it is only a few miles past my normal longest ride
SO I decided to go there and stop at the cafe for lunch


anyway - ride is quite slow as a lot of it is along narrow bumpy canal paths but I got there

Only to find it opens on the 12 th


so I have wanted to go for 10 years and got there 2 daya early!!



ALso came back with my left arm covered in blood courtesy of a dog - Staffie - who was VERY VERY pleased to find someone who wnated to say hello to him
Unfortunatly he was totally out of control and his long claws scratched my arm
lovely dog - just needs training - and probably more walks!


anyway - home now - total mileage 33 miles - which is the longest since I have been using a mileometer on a bike
Only the Gods know how far I used to ride on my old Peugeot when I was a teenager!

Up early gor done what needed to be done,then went out for an all day breakfast,then got back and did the coloured wall blocking out with emulsion and second coat on skirting.Tomorrow will be a hard day,sandpapering all the filler down,then ceiling and four walls to coat.Not looking forward to it at all.Oh and today i did not move the telly far enough away from me,i hit the screen with the end of the roller pole,it was ok when i lifted the dustsheet,got to be more careful.

Apparently the A470 that has been closed for 3 months and was due to be re opened tomorrow morning at 8 am, has been re opened tonight at 8 pm. Traffic lights are still there for finishing work to he done, but it's open, so shopping day for us tomorrow. Woohoooo

Bruce is exhausted. Sneaky bag of Revells (they're like kryptonite to me) then I'll get my head down. Back to Poshshire tomorrow.

Well - SWMBO came back from her day out with her friend in Chester

I got a text saying they would be back soon as they were just about to go through the tunnels

I thought - OK crossing the river - will be back in 10 minutes

err

what??

tunnels???

apparently they "missed a junction"

and actually did have a sat nav in the car
and if they did miss the junction it still would have been quicker to come off and go round the roundabout and back the other way



They only noticed when they saw signed for Liverpool Docks
so they travelled from Chester to Widnes via the Mersey Tunnels!!!


those 2 are dangerous when left to themselves!!!
