We know several ladies of the same mindset - at least 2 came under considerable pressure from their families and friends to conform and have children; they didn't and don't regret it.

Over the years we have seen a number of marriages fail following the addition of children into the relationship dynamic - 'hot' gf/wife becomes a tired mum, weekends & evenings filled with dull kiddy stuff and boom, the magic disappears with inevitable results.

It's similar at the other end of the age spectrum, we are watching more than a few couples who are struggling with 'empty nest syndrome'. Their children have left home creating a rip in the her/him relationship glue and they are wondering where the 'they' of yesteryear went - desperately sad to witness.
Now our two have properly left (with proper careers in the Old Smoke!), we are loving the ‘empty nest syndrome’ 🤣

I suspect it may be many years before they decide to have kids, if they ever do….we really enjoy socialising with them, be a shame to spoil it with pesky kids, & neither are particularly interested in populating the planet any further right now 🤪

A day there in a couple of weeks because DD has tickets to the Proms to take MrsMikeIOW: I’ll go have a cheeky beer and natter with TheBoy. He will no doubt regale me with the latest in his tech world….was talking AI image generation earlier today….now I might have had a career in IT, but he is way deeper than I ever was on the coding stuff….I’ll Ty not to let my eyes glaze over too much 🤪🤷‍♂️

Night night everyone.

Wish me luck for this week . Normally I am used to one race a week, then I retire to the bar for wine.
This week I am supposed to do seven races in three days ( Wednesday to Friday) .
If this turns out to be the case, I don’t suppose I will be feeling ok/normal until this time a week Monday 😂.
Wish me luck folks . 😀

Barnet,
Good morning from a rainy Barnet. It is still raining but the sun is shining through a gap in the clouds.
The cats didn't look happy to go out, one is already back, and Harry didn't go out at all.
A domestics day I think. The vacuum cleaner is going to get a bit of a work out later.
The dog will also get a long but soggy walk, but she doesn't care.
If I can't get out on the bike, I've got some fettling on one of them I can do in the man cave, so all in all plenty to do on a wet day.

:hello: Good morning all, shopping this morning, my Good Lady wants to visit a place I'm not keen on, it takes an hour each way on the bus and I can push her round it in under an hour.

Thanks but no thanks. I think I'll pass.
Ita dark and raining here. Another day of slobbing. I have some curtains from my daughter that need taking up. I need to cut 10 inches off the bottom then re hem them. They are very heavy curtains. I'm working my way up to cutting them down. I need courage as once I cut them, that's it. There's no going back.
