Good morning from a glorious sunny Lancashire. I have been awake since 2.00am. I need a nap. #1SP is here. I have to negotiate with Mrs P.

The M6 here is a nightmare on an ordinary day. Over the last couple of days the idiots have excelled themselves. A lorry crashed yesterday just north of Preston. M6 closed for hours in both directions. This morning there is still a 90 minute delay!!!! Every local road and lane is rammed, Preston gridlocked as everyone who lives locally tries to find an alternative.

It's no surprise when I see how others drive. Last night I was undertaken by someone driving at 100+. He swerved from inside to outside lane, back to the middle and then outside again! Later I came across a black Fiat 500 who drove from the M60 to Chorley without lights. It was virtually impossible to see him. He was constantly speeding up and slowing between 65 and 85. 😱

You have gravy on yer sausage!!

Gravy on sausage is great

well - it was before the doctor banned me from proper gravy
the instant gluten free stuff is still OK - slightly better than water

if you think of it - sausage and mash in a restaurant normally comes with gravy

That’s them started in this street installing fibre. Further along just now but will be working their way along. It’ll be a tad noisy for several days but it will be nice to have the option of fibre at some point once everything is connected up. I thought it was just Virgin but I saw a guy yesterday walking along with a measuring wheel and spoke to him. He seemed to think it would be for all providers so that’s good.

How? Just how? This happened about 8.30 this morning in the next village. There is one straight road, nothing else, cars park on either side, currently temporary lights in the village centre, 30 limit and some dickhead manages to flip his/her car. Whoever it is needs a ban.........preferably for life.

Apparently someone was around here the other week. They knocked on mu neighbours door and told him if enough people were Interested in fibre they would install it around here. We must have been out at the time.

I'm not sure how many or if it would be feasible here as there are so few people and they tend to be elderly so won't really be Interested in spending even more money each month on broadband

Lots of lunatic drivers around here too. The council are currently installing 20mph signs everywhere, but given we have no police to enforce it, it won’t make a blind bit of difference.

There are 20 mph signs along the main road past teh road where the grandkids live
generally pretty much no-one sticks to it
to the extent that if I do stick to it then I feel the problem I create with people trying to overtake me is getting serious - there have been several really dodgy passing manoeuvrers near the shops just because I was going "too slow"
Yes - that is their problem
but if a car overtakes me and kills a kid and I know that that kid would not have been killed if I was doing 23 rather than 20
then I am going to feel responsible - even if legally totally innocent and angelic

HOWEVER - the normal speed has dropped from 31-35 to more like 23-28
so it has had an effect
