I actually like sardines too. Heck of a price range on them, ranging from around 50p a tin for supermarket own brands all the way up to around £6 a can for fancy brands. I only seem to be able to get them in sunflower oil or tomato sauce locally. I think I prefer olive oil.

What about pilchards**, do they help? Long time since I have had them but I remember enjoying them.
I had fresh sardines in Portugal, very tasty but what a faff. So many bones.
**I recall that you can eat pilchards bones.

Yup - diagnosed with Coeliac Disease so I can;t eat anything containing gluten
i.e wheat, rye and barley mostly
hence can;t eat normal bread and the NHS guidelines mean that I can get a certain amount of bread on prescription
also anything with pastry - if Greggs sell it I can;t eat it!

In Scotland (and maybe Wales and NI - not sure) then you can include cakes and buns and stuff like that

only applies in some areas and sometimes to some GPs - for "reasons"

Can't get my head around a pharmacy stocking bread.

Speaking of fish, there's a very highly regarded fish and chip shop just around the corner from where our daughter lives. They have a few tables for eating in but mainly it's the normal counter service that sees queues out of the door and along the pavement. They do a " special " for non fish eaters, it's a big slab of battered and deep fried halloumi😎 . That combined with a pea fritter and " regular " ( = enough for two people ) portion of chips is one of my many weaknesses 😁

As far as I know, Pilchards are the same fish as Sardines. It depends on what part of the Mediterranean sea or Atlantic ocean they are caught and the size of the fish as to what they are called.

Google tells me you are indeed correct. Pilchards are adult sardines.
Apparently, when canned the high heat softens the bones so that they are edible.

Took my son for some driving practice this afternoon, he wanted to practice parking and slow speed manoeuvring. We got really lucky found a quiet, deserted car park in a nearby village which also had some old disused orange cordons laid on the grass so we used them for practice, he did really well!

Cool!

Is that a Skoda Citygo? Would like my daughter to get one instead of a Fiat 500.

We had an Up! Gti a while back and that was a proper pocket rocket and a hoot to drive on the windy roads up here.
