Yes, I can see that. 65" wouldn't physically fit. This is about aesthetics and available space. There's only one spot to put the TV which a 42" fills well. A 48" would be 3cm wider on each side. That works. The height though would be 11cm greater. That doesn't work in our little cottage. Squirrel Nutkin book is the extra 11cm height.

I see the problem.
I bought 65" for the main lounge which is over 18' long. Now I am in the flat it was touch and go but with a bit of faff we got it to fit.

I've got a vegetable curry for lunch, I don't remember buying it, so I think it must have been when I was ill and I ordered some ready meals from Sainburys and the guy/girl pick it up and gave me that, I'll see what it's like, I have a flat bread to go with it and appel pie for afters.

I haven't got a telly and the way the licencing peole treat me I'd never buy one,
but there is talk again on putting the cost with council tax :cursing:

I don't have a TV licence, refuse to pay on principle for multiple reasons. I don't watch live tv or use the iplayer so don't need one.

I'm not a huge consumer of screen time and usually watch Paramount+ or ITVX.

I had planned my exercise routine, started and then had to stop. You know I'm epileptic. I started to get the signals which give me 20 - 30 minutes warning of a potential episode. No choice but to stop, sit down and eat.

It's very unusual, more normal circumstances would be if I was tired and had skipped a meal. I feel fine now. Coffee and three Weetabix.

V.large TV's are not my thing tbh. But obviously each to their own.

We have quite a large lounge (30' x 18') and our TV is a 52" which seems plenty large enough for me. Not that it is the central focus point in the room unlike many homes.

One of our friends has a very small cottage with a huge TV over the fireplace and the viewing distance is maybe 8' away. Definitely not a case of bigger is better imo.

In other News; it is very thick fog here today so we have abandoned our planned walk - there is no pleasure to be had walking in dripping wet conditions with no views.

Have a good day all.

Probably similar to this one I sometimes buy. It’s quite pleasant.

Indeed. Not much point having a 100 inch 4k tv if you're sat so close that I can see the pixels without my glasses. We all know someone thwtsmdone it!

I agree. When we bought our last TV from Curry's the bigger screen TV's picture quality was not as sharp as that of the smaller TV's.

We live in a bigger so it must be better world!

We have a small SUV (VW T.Cross which shares the same platform as the VW Polo) and we have friends who do not understand why we do not have something like a Porsche Cayenne/Range Rover Sport.

We just don't want something that large. And definitely don't need something that large.

Same with our house. 3 bed, v.nice bespoke detached bungalow. Why on Earth would we need, let alone want, a great big 5/6 bed home?

Crazy world we live in!

Thanks but no thanks. I think I'll pass.
I might get rid of my normal phone now that my brother has found video calling. He got rid of his home phone a week ago.

I only ever used it when my mum was still alive. The payment people that phone now are people trying to sell me solar panels.
