Good morning. A wet and windy day but nothing remarkable. I slept badly, once I woke I began to think about the financial management issues at my son's house. Not worrying but considering the options. Once that started I couldn't sleep......just how work used to be.

I've been trying to get the housework done for two days. No excuses today.

@Dave7 bad news. Your game has just been called off.

Coooeeee. We are in the dark. The power has gone off. I have no idea how long it's been down. Luckily I have a power pack so I have plugged the Internet into it.

I will start a fire as well so that I can have a cup of coffee. Can't do without my coffee:laugh:

The wond isn't too bad here, then again we are protected by a ruddy big hill so that helps. I think the worst is yet to come for us.

Stay safe peeps. :hello:

I risked a walk. Just the riverside trail. Not the most pleasant walk I've had but still nice to get out.

The wind is really picking up now. Mostly just small branches and twigs down on the trail but there was one bigger tree that I wouldn’t have liked to have been under!

Our power went out for a short time.

Bonjour. It is really blowing here and raining. We have very strong winds.
Still in bed so have not looked to see if any damage .
We had a text from one of our grandson who lives in a ground floor flat. He is flooded.
Mrs G was planning to go to the cinema tonight to see Andre Rieu. It may not happen now.

Barnet,
I've just back indoors from the windy watery dog walking across the soggy fields.
I almost felt like Mary Poppins at times the wind was so strong.
Millie, after a while didn't look too impressed so we cut the walk a bit short.
Now indoors drinking coffee and listening to R4.

Other than being flooded, is he okay?

In our house we have in a line kitchen, small utility room, downstairs bathroom. I wandered through to the bathroom. What is that smell? No, @Dave7 behave. Oh, well and go back to kitchen.

An hour later I notice liquid in front of the washing machine. Argghhh! Nope, it's not water. The drier is next to the washer, I pull that out to see what's happening. The top of the drier has the same liquid on it. WTF???

Then I notice it dripping off the work surface. Hmmm. Move the full laundry basket, behind it is the container of frozen, homemade leek and potato soup I got out of the freezer last night............only it's laying on it's side.

Not only has my lunch been lost, I've spent 40 minutes cleaning up a sticky combination of soup and accumulated fluff from under the washing machine xx(
