Could have been worse. Could have been Brut33.

A reminder of my lost youth! That was considered the height of sophistication, along with Prawn Cocktail, German White Wine, Basket Meals in the pub. One particular advert which often springs to mind had the catch phrase "thousand a year men use Brylcream" 🙂. Not a product I ever used, personally, I wonder if it still exists?

Morning all :hello:

Removed the crank and bottom bracket off the Specialized Hardrock that was brought round yesterday.
Bottom bracket is knackered and the pedal thread on the drive side is stripped. New parts on the way.
Kids don't look after their bikes, do they?
I was always taught to maintain my bikes when I was young.

Now they just abuse them and buy a new one when they break.

I think that part of the problem with kids not maintaining their bikes is that they are not shown how to do it at a young age, plus, the throw away society we live in means that it is easier to buy another one instead of repairing/maintaining what they have in the first place.
My old Dad taught me from an early age how to maintain bikes, and whenever he was working on one of his cars he would show me what he was doing, explain why, and get me to help him out with somethings, ie. bleeding brakes, I would be in the car pressing the brake pedal to his instructions whilst he was outside with the pipe, jar of fluid and working the bleed nipple.
Maybe kids just don't have the same interests in mechanical things these day.

Thanks but no thanks. I think I'll pass.
I've been going through my mums old recipe books. She used to collect them decades ago. She got some free with Be Ro flour

My son wanted her recipe for chocolate cracknall. My mum used to be a school cook.

It was funny and upsetting at the same time seeing my mums handwriting In some of the books. Some of the books went back to 1957.

It has to be lambs liver. Pigs liver is too dry IMHO

Calves liver is very nice, a bit more crumbly.

My Mum was also a school cook for around 25years. She was excellent home cook as well, very rarely measured any ingredients but just added things as she felt her recipe needed.
