I can’t remember when I last bought Cycling Weekly. If memory isn’t failing me .Wasn’t it at one time called Cycling and Mopeds?
I have a subscription to Readly £9 a month No longer have to stand in WH Smith’s flicking through magazines I am interested in.

Somewhat surprisingly I get to read it for free, courtesy of a free subscription service run by the City of Edinburgh Council !

Good afternoon. It appears to be brightening up at last after a couple of weeks without sunshine. In other news the people who did such an excellent job converting our downstairs cloakroom into a shower room are popping in tomorrow evening to advise on a new kitchen. Mrs Tkk has been dropping hints for several months. We have quite a long kitchen, and I think there's too much room devoted to units. There's only the two of us and I see that there's potential for repurposing about a third of the space. Looking to the future it makes sense to make everything more ergonomic as we're neither getting any younger.

Barnet,
It's very gloomy here, and getting dark already.
Dinner is cooking, and I have a glass of Chianti on the go.
Bliss.

The CTC group I rode with never dropped any one.If it was a new member and they felt he or she was holding the group up we would suggest if it was summer they joined the Wednesday evening rides.which were shorter and local for instance Barow on soar We hired rowing boats or some other local attraction.Or winter they stick with us as most of the rides were around forty milesI it allowed them build up there fitness. We wanted new members to enjoy cycling not turn them away.

My local CTC has the same policy, it’s a lovely group to cycle with and I would cycle with them a lot more if I actually liked cycling in a group .
Mrs exlaser has had a similar problem . She rides with a women only club ( that’s been very inclusive in the past ) that used to have three distinct groups , beginners, intermediate and fast with hard and fast rules on average speeds . But the trouble is a lot of the fast riders are now riding on the intermediate rides . My wife can do the average speed 11 to 13 mph of the intermediate rides but when these faster rider take part they ride just a bit faster and she gets dropped . In the past the group would have moderated their speed now they don’t . The problem being one of these faster riders is the organiser of the club. ☹️She is thinking of changing to the CTC group.
