Good Evening. I will have to catch up later. Today has been beautiful, in more ways than one. Clear blue, sunny skies but a biting easterly wind meant it was cold on the bike. Beautiful for the weather and beautiful for the fabulous ride we had today. A gravel ride to Ancoats, the trendy, hip quarter of Manchester were my son and DIL once lived. The reason for the ride was to visit The Ancoats Coffee House which has great reviews. Until we got there I had no idea the cafe was in the same converted mill building as their flat!!! So three sweaty old cyclists trundled into this very hip coffee house. We had great coffee and a very good pastrami, mozzarella and gherkin toastie - cheese and ham anywhere else. As we cycled on through the area it became clear our presence was increasing the average age significantly. I swear we were the only people over 30!!!

It was a great day. I'm absolutely buzzing. A heady mix of gravel, railway paths, trails, urban cycleways, towpaths and quiet suburban back streets. Central Manchester along the network of canals was fascinating....................we rode down Canal Street without incident

Moment of the day? We sat outside the cafe coffee house in an enclosed area with other small retail outlets. I left my high intensity rear light on. Flashing. The lady owner of the hairdressers came out and asked if we could turn the light off as it was distracting her staff and customers. She asked where we had come from? Chorley. "Oh you have done well" My mate made a polite and courteous reply...........after the lady left he was slightly more impolite!!!!

Popped round to visit a friend, the tortoise lady. Everything the touches seems to flourish, garden blooms, newts in the pond, slow worms, field mice and the tortoises are out of hibernation with the males getting a bit feisty. She's also looking after a couple of stick insects as a favour while a holiday is taken.

Good morning. The Met Office is promising another beautiful day. I'll hold them to that. I seem to back to sleeping 4/5 hours a night and waking around 3.00am. I'd settle for 5.00am, anything else is too damn early. Just finishing my brew and yawning, perhaps a nap will happen. Who naps at 4.30am???

Today involves buying a new lawnmower. Electric and corded. A shopping trip is needed as certain foodstuffs have disappeared from our well stocked kitchen. This afternoon it's my u3a card group. I have numerous other bits to fit in, including submitting an objection to a local planning application.

Good morning all.
Another fine day in the offing. I have to water all my pots in the garden today, it hasn't rained here for 4 weeks, and the plants in pots are growing well. My waterbutt is half empty, and the fine weather is due to continue for another week at least.
More light exercises and resting up, but the knee's range of movement is improving on a daily basis.
Enjoy your day everyone. :cuppa:
