I bought a wahoo kickr - quite weighty. The bloke who delivered it put it down while I answered the door, looked at me, then insisted on carrying it into the house.
After I got over the insult I had to get it up the stairs - one step at a time.
I'm still 22 in my head
Indeed, but the neck downwards bit has to occasionally remind me I'm not anymore - !

Cigarette smoke used to be everywhere when I was a child. I hardly ever smell it these days.

I have never smoked. My parents smoked and I hated the smell.
Never got started.

Have no idea what happened to all the money I didn't spend on cigarettes

Yeah, I'm still trying to figure out what happened to the cash I no longer spend on smokes.

Mrs Slick reckons the 6 or 7 bikes out in the garage more than made up for it though.

Realised recently that my bikes generally cost more than I spent on cars.
Maybe there's a lesson there.

Fermented grape juice may have been my downfall. But a decent bottle of wine costs a lot less than a packet of cigarettes.
Even I don't drink a bottle every day.
I'm not much of a singer and the women side is pretty quiet too.

So still wonder where the money went.

Probably just the same place we all spend it, life.

The horrible truth is, there are a lot of people gripped by nicotine addiction who can barely afford food, but will always have cigarettes.

Some others will look down their nose at such people, but for me this just gives a slight indication of how addiction works.

Just enjoy being free of the weed. :okay:

My last cigarette was New Years Eve 1999

1st February 1981 was the day I quit smoking. A colleague at work bet me a fiver that I couldn't stay off them for a year. When I went to collect a year later he wouldn't pay up as he reckoned I'd be back on them soon. It became a standing joke, and although I haven't seen him for decades we have a mutual friend who passes messages back and forth. He will owe me £210 in a few weeks 😁
