Not quite, it's great for when it's raining and also, going back to @Mrs M's original comment, I never hang my pants up out on the washing line, I always use the Pulley.

I am not a prude or anything (FAR from it) but I just don't see the need for the neighbours to see my pants. More so than usual I mean! 😆

Haven't seen one for years, but the were certainly useful back in the day as long as you didn't mind your clothes reeking of tripe, rabbit or venison........or was that just me?

The previous owners were an old couple, she was 96 when she died and he was 101 when he moved to a local old folks home. Long gone now I imagine.

The result is that my house was quite old fashioned, hence the pulley.

We have one, fitted recently, in the utility room for the days we can’t use the “solar and wind” powered dryer
